C. Frederick Wehba has built his life and career on the
principles of family values, charitable generosity and hard work. A devout Christian, Wehba was born and grew
up on Crowell, Texas where he completed school through his high school
diploma. Wehba’s father Fred ran a
chain of grocery stores, and Wehba went to work for his father’s store at the
age of 10. By the time he turned 16 years old ,he was managing several stores. Wehba went on to obtain his degree from North
Texas University.
Wehba credits his father with giving him the fundamentals of the retail business and the drive to achieve more. After college, Wehba moved to Oklahoma City and began purchasing small supermarkets. His strategy at the time was to increase sales using experience he learned in his father’s stores and then sell the stores for a large profit.
Wehba’s commercial real estate career began while he was in Oklahoma City in the early to mid 1970s. He built a 120,000 square foot shopping center. At the age of 26 he designed and built a 53,000 square foot Superstore, which received the “Store of the Year 1976” award from Progressive Grocer Magazine.
Wehba took the position of President and General Manager of a 20 store supermarket chain in 1977 in Denver. Wehba’s interest in real estate investment led him to Dallas, where he continued buying and selling properties. In 1983, Wehba turned his full focus to real estate and since that time has bought, sold, and/or financed more than $3 billion worth of property.
In 1989, Wehba moved his family and his business interests to Los Angeles. In 1993 he founded the company that is today known as BentleyForbes. His wife Susan, oldest son C. Frederick Wehba II and sister Eleanor Cates are all actively involved in BentleyForbes.
BentleyForbes invests in multi-tenant commercial properties, with a focus on acquiring signature, trophy assets which have a high residual real estate value due to their locations in major markets and top submarkets nationally. Hello my name is C. Frederick Wehba Sr. and I am dedicated to the American
values that I learned growing up in the little town of Crowell, Texas and to
the charities and civic endeavors that I support today. Crowell was a tiny little
north Texas town when I was growing up... and it still is. There were good
people there back then, and today, when I go back for visits, I find many are
still there and the new ones are just as good.
I live in Beverly Hills now and am founder of BentleyForbes. I founded the company in 1993. I guess you could say I've achieved a certain level of success. It wasn't easy. There were good times and bad. But I was well served all of the time by the wonderful care, direction and inspiration I received growing up in Crowell. You could say the adults that molded me installed an "inner compass" that has helped me stay on track.
